FAQ's - the VA guide

Every entrepreneur wants their business to grow, expand and thrive. However, as it does so, your workload and daily demands will increase. It’s important to know your options at this time, whether that is hiring someone full time, part time or taking on a virtual assistant to ease the load and help in all aspects of business for a more cost effective price.

Now, we know you’ll have questions. So, to make your life easier we have answered our most commonly asked questions… plus a few fun ones!

Today, we have VA Lead, Holly answering some q’s for you…

What do you love most about your job?

I love the fact that I can bring my experience and expert knowledge to a variety of different businesses and sectors. I love the freedom and flexibility that comes with it. Being a virtual assistant has allowed me to be the most authentic version of myself.

How do virtual assistants work? More specifically, how do you work?

In essence, a Virtual Assistant (VA) is someone who can provide support in different aspects of your businesses but remotely. Their skills are wide ranging from business admin to social media management to project/lifestyle management.

We have a team of highly qualified and experienced individuals who possess vast experience in corporate business services and office/operations management. We offer a range of services including social media marketing, corporate film editing, copywriting and PR assistance, podcast production as well as PA services to c-suite executives and small businesses owners alike.

We’re a friendly, professional and efficient team who can adapt to your business and personal needs. Some clients prefer to be involved all the way, others like us to take the lead.

Onboarding of tasks is simple, despite our expansive team, you will only ever deal with one person, Holly Pattison, owner and Lead VA. This allows you to build a rapport with one person to allow you to fully trust that the task has been onboarded in an efficient manner, it also means you don’t need to pick your brain as to who it is you need to speak to in order to get the job done. Holly ensures that any handover of tasks is thoroughly completed and no details are left out.

Once a task has been onboarded, we will then delegate it in accordance with the team’s individual experience and skillset. Safe in the knowledge that you are being looked after by the best person.

When you partner with us, we become a part of your business. We take the time to truly understand your weak points to enable us to help you to the best of our ability.

What are your turnaround times for tasks?

This varies depending on the task at hand. We will acknowledge receipt of your task in one working day. For all tasks under an hour, we request that all tasks are delegated to us before 5pm to ensure it is added to our agenda for the following day.

For tasks over an hour we will usually turn this around within 3 working days, unless you have specified a deadline.

Are tasks completed remotely?

Yes, our services are generally offered on a virtual basis, but depending on location we can discuss the option of a VIP day - this is a day where you will have VA at your service for one day, this can be carried out remotely, or in person. This service is a bespoke service, and prices are dependent on the task, and location of services.

Which geographical location do you cover?

Although we are based in Brighton, we offer our Virtual Assistant services to clients nationwide including London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.

What timezone do you work in and would you consider international clients?

GMT or BST - we currently only look after clients based in the UK.

What will it cost me?

The more hours you commit to, the cheaper our hourly rate. It really is that simple. Our retainer packages start at £22.50/hour and increase to £27.50/hour depending on how many hours you sign up to. We also offer these retainer packages as a bulk buy option (i.e. purchase 40 hours at £22.50/hour with the option to use these over an agreed time period - usually 3 or 6 months).

We provide ad-hoc VA support for £30/hour, with this option no contract is necessary.

Social media management, podcast services and film editing are all premium services and are not included in the above packages - we will work with you to provide you a tailored package depending on the level of support you require for these premium services.

Why do you charge those rates?

When you hire a VA you are only paying for the hours you need them to work, you don’t pay for holidays, sickness, national insurance, tea breaks, or for them to take 5 minutes to scroll through instagram!

You are also paying for years of experience, dedication and their complete focus. You obtain a consistently high standard of work.

In short - you are getting great value for money.

It isn’t uncommon for people to question a VA’s hourly rate - but those that invest in a skilled VA rarely second guess their value once they have started working with them - for one reason and one reason alone - they are worth it!

How do I know where my time is being spent?

Each Friday we send you a timesheet detailing exactly what time has been spent and on what.

Out of all the tasks you do, what is your favorite?

I don’t think I could pick out a single task. I love the variety my job affords me - no two days are the same. My favourite part of my job is knowing that I am helping to make the lives of business owners more productive.

Describe a typical day in your work week.

No two days are the same. However I do follow the following pattern on a daily basis:

8am - check through daily tasks and list organise according to the client. I then review this and organise them under task time (quick tasks, tasks and projects) and note down where I will be delegating these, and which I will take care of myself.

9am - I check through my emails and work flag those that contain tasks. Adding them to my list as I go through them. I then delegate tasks to our inhouse VAs depending on experience and the tasks at hand.

10am - 1pm - TASK LIST POWER THROUGH

1pm - Email check

1.30 - Lunch

2pm - 4pm - TASK LIST POWER THROUGH

4-5 - Email check and task onboarding for tomorrow.

5pm - Finish!

If you had one song playing whenever you walked into a room, what would it be?
